With song, Santa and service, employees across Assurant made the holidays a little brighter. Showing the true meaning of the season by donating their time to worthwhile causes in local communities where they live and work, employees participated in several special holiday events, highlighted below.
Making Memories with Santa
In Milwaukee, nearly 60 moms and children from the Milwaukee Rescue Mission's Joy House, a homeless shelter for women and children, celebrated the holiday season with a very special companion — Jolly Old Saint Nick.
Hosted by Assurant Health, the Children's Holiday Party provides children an opportunity to visit with the jolly old elf, enjoy a delicious lunch and participate in fun holiday themed activities. Supporting Saint Nick in his gift-giving tradition, employees from Assurant Health donated toys for the children as part of their annual Giving Tree program. This year the program provided 310 gifts to Joy House, as well as Pathfinders, a local shelter for homeless youth, and the Guest House of Milwaukee, the city’s largest publicly-funded homeless shelter.

Fulfilling Holiday Wishes

Assurant Field Asset Services, which joined the Assurant family in 2013, has made holiday wishes come true for more than 520 children in the past four years.
Spreading Cheer with Holiday Songs
In Kansas City, employees from Assurant Employee Benefits spread cheer with song. The Assurant Employee Benefits’ choir sang holiday music for children and adults with disabilities at the Kansas City Rehabilitation Institute, a medical and vocational rehabilitation facility.

Miami’s Miracle League
In Miami, Assurant employees embraced the spirit of giving by sponsoring the Miracle League of Miami Dade’s Dec. 13 exhibition game. Several Assurant employees had the opportunity to participate on the field and serve as Baseball Buddies, pitching to the players and helping them around the bases.
The Miracle League is a program that provides an opportunity for children with mental and/or physical challenges to play baseball. The Assurant Foundation sponsored the event and donated $10,000 to the Miracle League project.
