Our commitment to DE&I focuses on fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce that reflects the clients, consumers and global markets we serve and supports innovation. This requires embedding DE&I in all areas of Assurant’s business model, as we believe that a diverse workforce leads to improved talent attraction and retention, a more engaged and motivated workforce, increased development of innovative services that are core to our long-term success, and improved client and customer experience. Talent and Engagement

We promote a strong culture that engages employees and supports growth, innovation and business performance. We believe in the importance of recognizing and rewarding performance and empowering and motivating employees to succeed personally and professionally. For our third consecutive year we have performed our enterprise-wide employee listening program that provides opportunities for anonymous feedback that provides insight into employee sentiment.

Health and Wellbeing

We are committed to creating an environment that promotes health and wellbeing at every turn. This includes our Total Rewards and Wellbeing program that encompasses a multitude of wellbeing benefits and resources to meet the needs of our diverse workforce.

Community Giving and Volunteering

Across our company, employee volunteer teams supported by the Assurant Foundation are engaged in local community initiatives focused on protecting, connecting, and inspiring. This work is facilitated by Assurant Cares, our global portal for all community engagement activities used to connect, assist, administer, measure, and report ways employees and Assurant are engaged and assisting in the communities we serve.

In 2023, the Assurant:

  • donated $2.7 million through charitable giving.
  • employees volunteered over 91,000 hours.
  • supported over 1,500 nonprofit organizations.
  • We hosted the first global giving campaign for Assurant with participation across 15 countries.
  • We supported our communities by spending $115 million with diverse-owned businesses, predominantly in the U.S.
